Series Overview
The VIOLET Series includes a range of expandable container homes, with 20ft (VIOLET20), 30ft (VIOLET30) and 40ft (VIOLET40) long models. Please visit each model's product page to view specific floorplans, dimensions and prices. (Click here to view VIOLET Series collection page)
These expandable container units are not steel shipping containers, rather they are built using a galvanised steel frame and PU sandwich panels for the walls and ceiling, for insulation and weight-saving properties.

The VIOLET20 includes 2 bedrooms, and the VIOLET30 and VIOLET40 include 3 bedrooms.
All VIOLET series models include a kitchen (with benchtops, cupboards, cabinets, sink) and bathroom (with toilet, shower, basin) with the unit. They also include pre-fitted light switches, double GPO power points and LED oyster lights.
The units come with a rear 50A electrical connection point as well as plumbing inlets for your water supply of choice, and waste/gray water outlets.

The units come delivered in an un-expanded container form factor, and require expansion when placed onto your site's footings. "Expansion" refers to the outer walls, floors and ceiling being folded outwards from the centre on either side of the unit.
We do not supply installation services, however the unit can easily be expanded and connected to plumbing & electrical services by a handyman / contractor team of your choosing. Connection to plumbing and electrical must also be done by a certified electrician and plumber of your choice. We do supply a free comprehensive installation guide.

These modular container units are not steel shipping containers, rather they are built using a galvanised steel frame and EPS sandwich panels for the walls and ceiling, for insulation and weight-saving properties.
What's Included
The JULIET series is based on the JULIET1, which is an empty 20ft long unit that can be attached to as many other units as desired. The JULIET2 is 2 units attached on their long edges, and the JULIET3 is 3 units attached on their long edges.
When attached together, the interior walls can be either removed or kept.
We have curated many different pre-set configurations for the JULIET Series, and you can find each model's configurations on their respective product pages.
Each JULIET Series model can be customised with custom floorplan layouts, bathroom styles, kitchen styles and additional home options to go along with your unit. These factors will affect the final price of the unit, so please contact us with your desired customisations to get your specified quote.
JULIET Installation

The units come delivered individually, with a maximum of 2 20ft units per truckbed, and are then attached together on your site after being placed onto your footings or concrete slab. They are customised by our team from our warehouse location in Mulgrave, NSW and delivered with all customisations prefabricated into your unit(s).
Our team at HTC will assist you on site with the placing of the unit onto your footings and connection of the units (if there are multiple), however connection to plumbing and electrical must be done by a certified electrician and plumber of your choice.
RUBY Series
The RUBY Series is a portable 20ft unit that is constructed with a galvanised steel frame and EPS sandwich panel walls.
It comes delivered fully assembled with 2 windows and a lockable swing door, and is also able to have air conditioning and lighting installed with extra cost.
It is perfect for use as a site shed, security shed, construction site office, temporary lunch room, and more.

IVY Series
The IVY Series is a portable 10ft unit that is constructed with a galvanised steel frame and EPS sandwich panel walls.
It comes delivered fully assembled with a window and a lockable swing door, and is also able to have air conditioning and lighting installed with extra cost.
It is perfect for use as a mini pop-up shop, portable toilet, and more.

Delivery methods
Delivery methods vary with our different series. The VIOLET series can be delivered using a combination of Franna crane, Hiab or crane truck, Semi Trailer truck, and/or tilt tray truck. The JULIET Series can be delivered using a combination of Franna crane, Semi Trailer truck, and/or crane truck.

Delivery quotes
Freight and delivery is an extra cost on top of our container homes. It is not included in the listed prices on our website.
The cost of freight to your site will vary depending on how far you are located from our stock holding locations.
We will provide you with the most economical freight quote possible using a third party delivery company to ensure the lowest cost.
Our JULIET series is built and delivered from our warehouse location in Mulgrave, NSW which means all JULIET models originate from this location for freight quote purposes. If you are not within NSW, the price for delivering your JULIET unit may vary greatly.

JULIET Series Installation Overview
JULIET Series
The JULIET series is delivered onto your site fully customised with your pre-set configurations installed from our warehouse location. If you have multiple units (JULIET2, JULIET3), the units will require connection by either our team at HTC, or by your handyman crew of choice. This will depend on the location of your site and the distance from our headquarters.
After connecting the units together, you must have the electrical and plumbing connected by a certified electrician and plumber.

Council approval varies from state to state, and per local council in Australia.
Typically, all of our units can be classed as "movable dwellings". This is because of their small floorplan area (all of our units are within 72sqm) and because of their lack of permanent ground fixation.
Our units are made to be placed onto concrete footings, piers, or concrete slab, with no permanent fixation to the ground.
Because of these attributes, our units can be considered as similar to a caravan or camper trailer, even with the lack of wheels.
Our units use Australian approved electrical components as well as Watermark certified plumbing fittings, however these certifications are not required for movable dwellings. Along with this, our units do not require the multitude of structural certifications needed for a permanent dwelling building status.
We are happy to supply you with all of the documents certifying our units' materials, safety, electrical and plumbing for your peace of mind.
If you would like to take the route of going through your council for permanent dwelling status, we can help to an extent by providing you with the information we have regarding our units, however we cannot provide these approval services or guarantee the units will be approved as a permanent dwelling.

We offer 3 year warranty for the interior, and 5 year warranty for the exterior.
Units that have been installed in deviation from our installation guides will not be warranted.
For example, if your besser block footings are not level when installing your unit(s) and water leakage occurs, this does not fall under warranty.

- We'll submit a quotation to you for your review and approval
- Upon approval, we require a deposit for 20% to put your home into production or reserve a standard unit
- Please Note: Custom models can take up to 12~16 weeks from deposit depending on production & shipping times.
- We often have standard design units in stock or available immediately or sooner than custom designs
- Once balance payment has been made, we can arrange for freight to your delivery site (sold separately)
- Upon freight payment, we ship your unit to your delivery site (deployment/installation is not included)
If paying by cash in full, we require a deposit to reserve your prefab unit or to begin construction on your custom unit.
To reserve a standard design unit, we require a deposit of 20% of the container unit. For deposits on custom units, we will consult with you before the construction of your unit to come to a payment agreement. Deposits are refundable.

Thinking about buying a container home? We’ve answered the most common questions we get—from cost and design to durability and sustainability—to help you make an informed choice.
VIOLET Series: It is of utmost importance that it is understood that Home Technology Club will provide the highest quality service to facilitate the production and delivery of your shipping container home however we do not provide services regarding the construction of the footings, or installation of the container itself. Our container home requires 4+ people to expand, we recommend hiring a certified builder to assist in the process if you are not comfortable expanding the container yourself.
JULIET Series: JULIET Series units require HTC representatives to complete the unit connections and placement onto footings. We will arrange this with you before delivery.
Our customisations allow you to include more home options to make off-grid living possible. Our JULIET range is highly customisable since we install them at our NSW distribution centre. Both our VIOLET and JULIET ranges can be customised at additional cost. The flexibility of customisations includes, floor plans, kitchen layout, bedroom layout, living space, bedrooms as well as colour schemes.

VIOLET Series: No, the listed price does not include any home options, customisations, additions or upgrades. We do offer these on top of the base unit cost and are able to ship them along with the container unit together.
JULIET Series: The basic JULIET units do not include any home options, customisations or furniture. The price reflects the container unit(s) alone with no added features. Please see our custom unit products for estimated price of a unit including customisations and home options.
Custom JULIET units include options such as Air conditioning, a kitchenette, bathroom and/or sliding glass door(s). The listed price reflects an estimation of what the cost of a unit may come to, depending on the extent of customisations and home options. It does not include furniture or appliances.
- HTC can arrange local delivery to your site via a third party shipping company. Our quotes are based upon best case scenario sites which means optimal site access & weather conditions
- Additional charges will be passed onto the customer in the event costs exceed the quote
- Customers may also organise their own transport and we will load-on your unit for you
Yes, they are manufactured with 240V AC power and safety circuit breakers. This connection is established via a 15 amp plug into the power outlet located at the rear of the home. We strongly recommend hiring a certified electrician to complete the electrical fit out of your container home.
The VIOLET range comes fully plumbed to Australian standards with hot and cold water inlets, as well as being equipped with separate grey water and waste outlets. We strongly recommend hiring a certified plumber to complete the plumbing fit out of your container home. The JULIET Series comes with plumbing inlets/outlets as well.
- Our basic model container units are produced overseas and arrive in scheduled shipments to our NSW distribution centre and holding facilities across the country
- Depending on your location, we may be able to ship our basic model units immediately
- If no stock is available, or if you have a custom design, lead time can be 12~16 weeks from time of deposit, excluding shipment to your deployment site, weather permitting
- Our supplied options are also subject to availability and lead times vary
- Our container units can be classified as moveable dwellings, not as permanent dwellings
- Each local council has different requirements and restrictions on what can be classified as a moveable dwelling and we recommend seeking advice from your local council before considering purchasing a container unit
- There are some provisions under NSW State Legislation for our units to be classified as a caravan or campervan (regardless whether on wheels or not), with restrictions on who can occupy the caravan and for how long
- We can provide documentation regarding the design of our container units for council reference, but we do not provide any certification or apply to councils to bypass development approvals on your behalf

How does a deposit work?
Making a deposit is the best way to guarantee that you can secure your desired quantity of container homes. Our deposit costs are 20% of the container itself (excluding home options and freight).
Allocation will be determined based on stock levels and the next available unit at your closest distribution centre.
If in the event you make a deposit before a freight cost can be facilitated and you decide that it is not financially viable, you will be able to receive a refund for your deposit in full.
The container homes are manufactured overseas and then shipped to our Sydney distribution centre for quality assurance. We can assist in facilitating a local freight company to deliver your container home to its delivery site via a flatbed, tilt truck, or crane truck.
Flatbed
- Requires a separate crane to lift the container home on and off a truck and is better suited for orders to be delivered outside the Sydney Metropolitan Area.
Hiab/Crane Truck
- A flatbed truck with a mounted crane and is best suited for orders to be delivered inside the Sydney Metropolitan Area.
Rail
- Home is shipped via a train, suitable for long distance.
Direct To Port
- Container home is shipped directly to your nearest port, primary method for interstate and overseas orders (minimum of either 2x20ft homes or 1x40ft homes to be sent to the port, can be delivered in conjunction with another customer's order if needed)
